I have quite a few portable grills, still really haven't found one that was a good mix of everything I want:
The grillput isnt bad, their vegetable steamer fire tray is eh. There's no wind control, so any gust of wind makes cooking difficult. You have to setup some wind blocking. There's no height control, unless your in dirt, of which I guess you can lift or push down on it. Big plus side is that you can put it on any established fire pit as well, and not have to use nasty camp ground racks. Lots of small pieces, easy to loose, takes time to assemble, but it packs super small.
The snowpeak bbq box is great- but it is very bulky, IMHO. THats about its onyl detractor. And it has a lid!
Disposable grills are my usual go to, because of the setup and cleanup. I can stop somewhere, start up the grill, and be done cooking quickly. Douse some water, toss the grill in the trash, good to hit the road again. Its smaller amount of charcoal can be disappointing for anything that is extremely thick or require a long cook time. however, it is PERFECT for Kalbi and other thin meat bbq.
Finally, I've moved onto just a grate for my emberlit titanium wood stove. Its opening is only about 4x4", so it does require a little bit ofedit meat "planning". however, I can get 15 minute of a great wood fire, just by a few twigs.
Sorry, opening is only about 3x3... ish. I feel like its bigger than 3x3, but the mini is only 3x3 according to the website.
