best iOS apps for 2011

The end of 2011 is drawing near, and that means we're going to see lots of "year's best" lists in the coming days.

Here's one fellow's list of the 20 best new (or substantially updated) iOS apps for 2011

My list: Apps for Overlanding

1. Road trip: Great app for fuel consumption, tire log, multiple currencies etc
2. Tapatalk: app for connecting to the Portal
3. Google translate: for those odd occasions

how is Tapatalk better than simply logging onto Expo and posting?

My understanding is you can post photos etc with tapatalk. You cant attach pics with an iPhone or iPad. At least I can't seem to...

When I'm on my iPhone, I find it much easier to use ExPo via Tapatalk rather than the browser. On the small screen, I prefer the way forums look on Tapatalk, and I don't have to bother zooming in and out with the browser.

Maybe it's my imagination, but Tapatalk seems faster too.

Tapatalk takes away all the ads, sigs and many other things that slow down a loading page. If you are in a sketchy cell area it plain rocks over trying to log into the full page. I spend a lot of time in areas where I don't get 3G coverage. A lot of times it will allow me to access sites where I normally couldn't because the load times are so painful.

I just opened the advanced options tab on the tapatalk app, it's very cool that it gives so many options. I'd say that it's well worth the 3 bucks I paid for it.
