I have 2 shots that stand out as the best for me.
This was atop Poison Spider, I was waiting on some climbers to get into town and it was the peak of the Fall season. All of my spots were filled with the usual suspects. I decided to get up on PS for some solitude, because I don't really drive a day away from L.A. to hang with other people. Not that I don't like people, I just like them much more when they're not around.
I didn't even notice the big dipper until I got the image up on the big screen.
I hooked up with Kate Rutherford and Mikey Schafer to shoot some routes in the Indian Creek area. Kate had been working on the Optimator all day and struggling, I began to feel like having a photographer hanging on the rock with her was a major distraction. I decided to pack my gear and catch up with them back at camp. Hiking away on the approach I kept looking up and Kate was crushing the line. The rock seemed to be glowing from the bounced light of the canyon floor. I posted up on a rock and watched her send the 5.13- route with no distractions.
