Hi all, The more i read up on solar the more i realise how little i know.
Can any of you recomend a good current book that would be worth buying or a very good source of infomation. Forums are great but sometimes they can misguide you with misinfomation or incorrect advice.
I realise i am not going to find all my answers in one place but a good foundation in the knoledge would go along way to making better informed decisions.
Any recomendations relevant to solar in 20ft expededition setup would be greatfully recieved.
Thank you

Solar isn't so complex that you need a book.

Just review some of the setups on the subforum link below then post what you expect and the very knowledgeable people on this forum will help you.

Hey Alloy, thanks I will continue to read the links :)

You should start with good a understanding basic DC electricity.
Then carefully read ’specs of the equipment you are considering and how it applies to what you want and now know about DC.
From there its easy, and extra credit...
You can recognise which YouTube guys are idiots and which guys share compentent advice.
thank you, while I do have a little knowledge on electrickery I do need to catch up as its been too long since i worked around it in earnest.

Cheers,

One of the places to get stuck is researching systems with panel voltage is less than 24V using and PWM controllers. You'll want to look toward houshold systems with MPPT controller that use panel voltages greater than 30V but not the systems that have 110VAC inverters on each panel.

thanks for your suggestion have had a little look but after something more aimed at 24v to 48v systems not 12v. although it is all the same stuff just bigger i guess, well except the cable thats smaller ;-)
