Always a good write up - as others I have seen on the internet from you. The blue Dow insulation/foam product you are using is indeed difficult to source. (Dow Styrofoam Blue Board rigid XPS insulation) I am wondering if anyone has experience with what might be an alternative available at HomeDepot.

Here is a link to the "Pink stuff" at HomeDepot (FOAMULAR NGX F-250)

It would seem this product also offers the 25psi rating the blue Dow stuff you used has. Any thoughts?

Personally, I am just looking at saving some weight by getting rid of wood risers.

If you just check for what's available, whatever's used for foundations underground locally

the compression strength is easily found.

Ford Super Duty's are notorious for their tall bed floor to cab roof dimensions and it is common to have to raise a slide in to fit these trucks properly. I've used 1-1/2" pink XPS with an 1/8" sheet of Luan laminated to the top for years in our Super Duty without issue. Then I got a real truck and haven't worried about it since... ;)
