Best Winter tire for LT on 15" Rims : edited with suggestions

I have been going through winter tire threads , and have found many good suggestions. All the "blizzak" type tires but the problem is they dont make them in a 15" wheel. For Light Truck tire, more specific a 77' scout , it seems we're stuck with getting a mud tire ,pinned for studs and having them siped or running an all season/all terrain like the BFG AT, but they arent really built for snow/ice like the "blizzak" tires. I am running the Hankook dynapro MT and really like them, so I could get another set and use the winter formula of sipe/stud. The only good winter LT tire I found to be raved about on here is the Goodyear duratrac. So what do you all LT guys run that comes in 15" wheels close to a 31x10.5r15, thanks

Edit: these are the suggestions from the thread

Dunlop makes the GrandTrek SJ6 in size 31x10.50-15. Tire Rack has them for $119 each.

the bfg all terrain tires have given me amazing traction in the snow, ice, etc. they are sipped very well and are very grippy on the snow and ice. the tread holds a little bit of the snow which gives it better traction in the slippery conditions.

Toyo M-55 (commercial traction) have 15' inch sizes. They can be studded but seem to work well in snow without studs if you want them for year round use. However they are expensive.

I was going to recommend the Hankook i*Pike, but the biggest size they come in is a 235/75/15 and it's not an LT tire. I run these on my FWD Toyota, and it's like a snowmobile.
.
I see Nokian used to make (not sure if they still do) their Hakkapeliitta in a 31x10.50x15 LT. I've owned these tires (on another FWD car), and they were also very good.

x2 on the Nokian Hakkas. I run them in the 31x10.5x15 LT and they are amazing. I will for sure get another set when the time comes...but next time studs, just because.

You don't say what size you want, but I'd recommend the Hankook ATM RF10. These tires a freakin amazing in the snow and ice on road.

That's good to hear, I just bought this tire in the spring and they haven't really been rain or snow tested yet...but I'm hopeful. What kind of pressures do you run in ice and snow?

Maybe I am just thick, wouldn't surprise me, but why not run the Duratracs that are raved about? They come in 15", they are great in snow, decent in mud and hold up to heavy use on gravel year round. They are as close to a perfect all around expedition tire as I have found. I have put better than 60k km on a set on my work truck and they haven't missed a beat. Or if you don't want or need the bigger lugs the Wrangler SilentArmours would likely work well too.

Have you checked out tire rack on the Firestone Winterforce UV (Light Truck/SUV Studdable Snow).

I have this on my DD, which is a 1991 S-10 2wd. I run a 235/70/15. Truck is very light in the rear, but the tires stick like glue on snow and ice. Highly recommended, and the price is great at $87.00 per tire.

I can tell you what tires NOT to get. ;) Cooper S/T-C. They work well in a few limited snow conditions, but generally they're pretty bad, especially on ice.

+1

I don't know what tire size the OP wants, but these are available in a 235/75/15. I've got them on our van and they're not bad. They're not Blizzaks, but for the price they work well.

From my experience it seems a tire designed for snow will outperform BFG AT in winter conditions. The best LT snow tire I've had so far is Goodyear Silentarmor. It is somewhat noisier than BFG AT on the highway.
