better fabric-design for flippac????

I looked into having torsion bars manufactured to replace my broken one since I had waited 6 months for one from FRP. I finally was able to get a used on. The torsion bar is specific to the flippac I believe and not an easy thing to find someone to replicate.

I am still waiting and it has been a year and a half and still the run around. It ( there lies ) got so bad that they told me that I cancelled my own order.... They (FRP) have my credit card number now so hopefully that would give me a little leverage. Its been 4 wks since the "new" order and they (Marcy) said that the torision bars are getting "treated". I thought there wasnt any kind of treatment to the bars hence the rusting? Anyway FRP is the worst to deal with! Im planning on heading down to Cabo in October. If I cant get one by then, It will put quite a damper on my trip. Sorry gang for the vent just really frustrated with FRP! Any replacement parts provide from another company ie. AT Trailers/ Nemo/ SLO is an open welcome!!!!!

Treated is likley referring to the hardening process or the tempering process for the torsion bars. Its one of the last stages so thats a good sign I guess..... that is if they are even telling the truth about that as well.

Well spoke to Diane today and they took my credit card again and now my shipping address so maybe just maybe it might be close to actually beinng shipped. I wont hold my breath. So yes lx450landcruiser you are most likely right about the the "treatment" process.

Well the rumors are correct. AT is currently working on an improved tent design for the FlipPac. We have a Prescott AZ based sewing company working on the project.....

I'll keep you posted as we move forward with the project.

Any Updates Martyn?

Sorry, I didn't see the updates on this thread.

Yes there are updates. Basically two updates.

The "tailer' we were originally working with won't be able to make the new tent.

We have found a US based tent maker who can work with us. We have an original tent and hoops for the project and we have been waiting on a damaged Flippac so we can use it to do the modeling.

The Flippac hasn't materialized so I am going to use my own personal Flippac for the project.

Due to the changes and delays in getting the Flippac to model from we are basically starting from scratch. I'm expecting the project to restart next month.

Maybe some of my plans being delayed are a blessing in disguise

Martin, if you are looking for potential customers, count me in. Also, as an owner of an Eezi-Awn RTT, I'd like to recommend following their cues as far as fabric, window eyebrows and rain fly goes. All work very well, as I'm sure you know.

I too am very interested. I bought a used flip pac at the beginning of summer and have been putting off buying a rain fly to see how this develops. Please keep us posted.
