Bifacial Solar Panels

Gotta Be Nuts
Anyone know if the new (ish) bifacial solar panels are worth the extra money for mounting flat on a white gelcoated roof (our RV)? The claim is up to 25% greater output in the same footprint but I am thinking that not much light would reach the back (between the cells the glass is clear) of the panel so the gains would potentially be very small. The price I am seeing is about 10% more and even if they only gave 5% extra then they might be worth it to me.

Not worth the extra cost and failure points. Focusing on removing any possible shading from roof mounted gear is much more important. If you are looking to maximize insolation, a tilt system would produce significant gains in many latitudes.
