just thought I would post some teaser pics of my the trip last month.

the park is beautiful. put this on your list. week of not seeing a paved road or even another person... Awesome...

Roads are tight, but fullsize can make it.

Can't wait to get out to the next one...

One of my favorite places. Spent a week in 2010 out there on enduro bikes staying in the bunkhouse.

I too loved that place was there for a week just myself and my dog. Saw a lot but not near everything I could have or wanted to. Another trip needs to be planned soon. Not interested in sleeping in the bunkhouse but would be interested in the meals there. After I left a bud told me you could eat there... anybody know if that is correct?

It is. $8 for breakfast and $10 for dinner. Well worth it when you're looking to pound out desert miles on a 450 dual sport. Obviously a different setup than ExPo style. But you have to reserve ahead of time as everything has to be trucked in from Presidio.

We had breakfast burritos, pancakes, tacos, steaks, fajitas.... Excellently prepared.

Thanks for the pics

Any time a fellow can get away from others for a week, you know that you are in good country! As you suggested, this is on my bucket list but it will be a couple of years before I get to scratch it off the list. Heading that far from home, I am going to want to hit up the state park, the NP and head over to Austin for some good music.

X2 we have a lot to offer here in TX, we may not have tons of Overland quality roads, but we have beautiful views. Cody, when do you want to go back? I'm in.

Wow!!! Definitely a great adventure. Those are sme great pictures. Thanks for sharing. I am definitely putting this on my bucket list.

Can you tell me if you guys had to use 4X4 on any of the trails you went on? I ask because I do not have 4x4 on my Armada, so I will like to avoid places my Armada cannot handle.

The last couple times I was in BB, it was winter. Feb/March and we froze in the mornings.

Lets try for a fall trip?

There are plenty of trails in both the SP and NP that you will be fine on with 2wd. If you pick up a map of the park there are very clear trail making showing which require 2wd high clearance, 4wd, or 4wd high clearance. There are also signs around the park say "4wd required beyond this point" that will keep you out of trouble.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate that.

What he said. Wasn't always needed, but nice to have and trail conditions change.
