Big O tire stores, Quality store branded tires?????

Sooo.... any information on this tire dealer from Expo members, I have 5 new Big O brand AT tires 265/70/16 for a reasonable price (little over a grand all said and done) purchased, mounted etc. while in Co. traveling home to NYS from my last trip out west (DE III) after several tire failures in the Nevada desert. They are made in America and I was told by the store manager they are made by Cooper. Have not been in the dirt with them yet but on the highway they are pretty quiet and with lot's of sipping good at highway speeds in the rain (all across Kansas and part of Missouri in rain/wet interstate driving). The tread is as good as any other AT tires I have seen and better than some. What say anybody? Thanks, mjmcdowell

I always rolled on Big O tires when I lived out West. Good, cheap, amazing warranty coverage. If they had stores out East I would probably still be buying them.

A family member uses them and has no complaints. Sees lots of fireroad miles and wear is ok. Don't know about real off-road performance, though. I'd imagine they're good.

Big O AT's were installed on a couple work trucks I've driven. A F250 with a utility bed and a F350 with a somewhat heavy fiberglass box on the back. Had a heck of a time keeping the tires balanced on both trucks. We were having some serious traction issues in the mud on a job in Alabama. I talked the boss into getting some new tires after he tagged a tree. Installed some Firestone Destionation A/T's and it was a night and day difference. Rode better, vibration was gone and worked awesome in the mud. Couldn't get him to spring for the M/t's.

I don't know much about Big O, but I've had great experiences with Americas Tires. They're customer service has been second to none. I've purchased three sets of tires and a set of rims. I've got two sets of Coopers, the AT3's and the ST Maxx and both are good.

Big O as a store to buy tires is great. As far as their "brand" tires I don't know. But I'm pretty particular about tire performance. If you like what you have keep us informed and run with them.

The Firestone Destination LE's I have on my Trailblazer are great M&S tires. Makes me think their A/T's would be good tires too. All in all if you are looking at A/T's the BFG are ALWAYS the tire others are compared to. The only other A/T I may try in the future are the Goodyear Duratrac's as they seem to get rave reviews. But look on these threads and at photos of peoples vehicles and it seems like 50% are on BFG A/T's. That says a lot.

Have had over 20 years worth of great service from Big O tires. Dealer service and support and warranty are top level. Currently on Les Schwab tires as that is what the truck came with. Both Big O and Les Schwab are a more local brand in the Northwest.

Yeah... For that little price difference I'd go with the overwhelmingly known, all around best A/T out there, the BFG A/T. But that's just me.
