Nice YJ. My son has a '95.

Quick question on that sheared shackle bolt - I see from the picture that the bolts are "greasable". Was the one that sheared the same type? I have always wondered about the compromise in the strength of the bolt when drilled out for greasing the bushings. Currie uses them in their JJs, but I am sure a leaf spring shackle sees a lot more stress than a control arm bolt in a coil suspension.

No, I had regular straight shackles with Grade 8 bolts in the back. It was the upper grade 8 that broke. I am not sure if grade 8 is meant to take the lateral stress from the shackles twisting when the jeep flexes? I know they are harder than regular bolts but may not be suited for shackles. At any rate I replaced it with the non-greasable center bolt from the shackle and SFSG.
