Biggest tire on stock 4Runner?

My friend has a current gen 2003+ 4Runner, with no lift and 16" wheels. I've been scouring the internet trying to find what tire size he can fit, but I'm finding NOTHING. There seems to be no tire discussion on yotatech or any of the other sites for a stock current gen. People will ask, but get no reply. Even here, every thread seems to involve a lift as well.

So can anyone tell me what tires he can fit? Stock size is 265/70R16 so I'm guessing 265/75R16 at least will fit.

I looked at toyota120 but couldn't find anything definitive. I told him to sign up, since you can't search without being a member

265/75-16 (265/70-17) should fit with no problems. 235/85-16 also should be doable, since it's nominal size is only 0.078" more than the 265s. Most that I see running no lift and ATs are running the 265 series BFG ATs.

On the previous generation, esp. 99, you could supposedly fit a 255/85-16 (255/80-17) with no lift and maybe a bit of minor trimming. Not sure how well this would work on the newer generation, but from my search and looking at a few different ones (03, 05-06) it shouldn't be a big issue. Clearance issues due to width is the major limiting factor more than height is.
