Just started working with Aluminess on the design for a custom roof rack and potentially some custom Nerf bars. What are your thoughts on these Nerf bars and something similar to this roof rack?

Also playing around with a few ideas for a rear bumper that most likely will be fabricated by Chris at UJOR. Something along the lines of this but maybe a little less minimal if you will.

Regarding the nerf bars, maybe it's just the picture, but they look like they hang down more than necessary and a little too thin for a vehicle of that size - more "form over function" imho. Personally, I'd go with a rock slider design that's beefier and tucked up higher, but it depends on what you're going to be doing with the rig. Roof rack looks awesome. My $.02...

Think youre getting your pictures mixed up. The one with all the plumbing and the fancy paintjob is somebody's show queen, not the subject of the thread, which is a pretty awesome looking ride.

Those two pictures were to show what I like as far as what I want to do on my van.

That show rig has got nothing over your ride man, seriously. You might be just a bit bumper challenged at the moment, but beyond that there's nothing on that one I'd be too excited about adding.

Get youself some bumpers, and a roof rack if you lean that way and you're golden dude! Well, maybe a pair of side mounted Fifties and some wheel mounted knee-cappers and you'll have that whole Zombie Apoc thing covered as well. :D

I like the roof rack. Very similar to the custom Baja Rack on the Yeti, and what I will be going for when it's time. As far as the tube steps go... What's the main reason for wanting them? Ease of entry/exit? Protection? Looks? For me, I wouldn't pay all that $$$ for a UJOR lift only to reduce clearance with low hanging tube steps. If you want ingress/egress assistance, then why not go with the AMP Research retracting steps? If it's looks, then that is a subjective matter, and you should get whatever you think looks best. Protection will require custom steel sliders, which doesn't always relate to ease of entry.

Agreed on the rack.
The sliders are visually appealing to me in addition to easing the entry for small people and old folks like me! The AMP steps are fairly decent but Chris say they may not work on my van. Have to do some thinking I guess. The Aluminess Nerf bars are smaller in height but too thick and compact for me which is disturbing the look of the vehicle as far as I'm concerned. What are you doing for ease of entry on yours?

After several lengthy discussions on what will work best for me, I have decided to go with the AMP research steps on the van. There will be a full length on the passenger side and a one step under the drivers door. Chris at UJOR has been wonderful in helping me get this squared away and he will be installing them next week.
