Black rig

[Lost African]

I am considering a black LC / LX for a Central American expedition - as far as Panama.

Would you be concerned about a built black rig (LX or LC) looking to similar to a "Narco's" / Mafioso's rig?

Better to go with a lighter colour?

Also do the silver/gray rigs hide scratches better? Darker colors show dirt more, but scratches?

I wouldn't be concerned about drug lord appearances. For then, people wouldn't mess with you. The proper concern would be about looking like a rich gringo. Land Cruisers have the rep for being built like tanks from the factory, so no real reason to build one further up for a Central American expedition. What you should do is fly down there and purchase an older Cruiser or other 4x4 not readily available in the US and drive it back.
