How generally is the weather there, cool nights hopefully now?

It was pretty warm, but not too bad. The first night I just used a sheet. The 2nd night I started with the sheet and woke up covered with a lightweight down bag (which I just use like a blanket). 50's I think. But I wasn't checking.

That is so nice. I need to take Steph and the Kayak there ASAP.

Oh man - gotta do it. She would love it.

That looks like my kind of place! It also looks like you had the place to yourself for the most part. Is that typical or did the rain scare everyone off? I have a feeling it would be covered up every weekend if that was in Missouri.

It was a fairly quiet weekend, probably due to the stormy weather. But we definitely were not the only ones there. Unfortunately, access to the lake is pretty easy, and you know what that means. One couple we talked to who had camped on the shores from their kayak said that the night before some idiot was cruising the lake with his music blasting into the night. We also got passed by little party boat complete with beer bong, but at least they were being pretty civil (at the moment... LOL). I bet on a summer weekend with beautiful weather it might be a little too busy for my tastes. The good news is that motors are limited to 10hp. I'd love to go back in the fall or winter and try it.
