Oh yeah. If you tried to fold or bend these they would crack apart. They should be called lightweight panels.

I Velcro them to an aluminum frame.

I thought I responded to this but my post did not make it through.
Anyway. Yes for me weight and portability are primary. Im willing to accept the limitations. As aFamily of five we end up with a lot of gear weight. This aluminum backing reduces the weight by over 50% over the hard version. Plus I can keep the controller wherever I want it.
