BMW X5 diesel

Our 09 X5 diesel is doing ~20.5mpg in-city driving on the 2nd tank. Part of that in -20F. temps. Rated at 265hp/425ft-lb, it accelerates like it has a big V8 under the hood (3.0L 6cyl 24 valve twin sequential turbos). Best thing for its' daily driver (my wife): hands-free cell phone with voice commands.
2 emission things I don't like: it requires fillups of urea solution (AdBlu) with every oil change and it has a particle trap that needs "regeneration" (burn-outs) every once in a while. All so it can meet California emissions.
Maybe I need a BMW computer to add to my Mercedes computer....

As far as pictures - it just looks like any black X5. It sounds different. Not exactly rattle or cackle but definitely different. Very quiet inside, can barely hear the motor. The traction control is better than our 01 325xi. It has no low range, she uses it just in town on icy/snowy surfaces and occaisonal dirt roads.

It already pains me viscerally when, in the course of a off-roading, I scrape against things and get pinstripes on my US$30k Nissan Navara. Are you really gonna take that expensive bad boy in an "expedition" into the gnarly and nasty stuff?

What's the stock weight? What's the max payload? At what RPM is the torque peak?

Are you kidding? It's an AWD runabout for my home town which is icy/snowy from October through April. For my wife.
I have a Unimog for "expeditions".
It weighs ~5200 lb and has a ~1000 lb payload. Peak torque is 1750 rpm.

BMW is offering cash incentives to buyers of the 2009 335d or an X5 xDrive35d.
They offer $4500 credit toward the purchase. ( This is independent of the "cash for clunkers" deal.)

In addition, the federal government is offering a $900 tax credit on the 335d, and $1,800 on the
X5 xDrive35d. Both vehicles include BMW's 4 years/50,000 miles zero-cost maintenance plan.

The deal is good through August 31st.
