Boat construction vs metal skeleton

Sorry for all the questions. I am so close to starting but bc of shipping I have to wait until next sat. I want to build the best trailer I can and have very good fiberglass and welding skills but am a bit lost on how best to proceed. So I am wondering what would be a better way to go.

1: boat style. fiberglass over ply, 1x2 framing, foam and a second ply skin
-takes a long time
-connection to frame isn't as strong
-cost more

2: steel skeleton welded to frame, ply attached to it and fiberglassed on the outside, foam, then an inner skin.
-introduces moisture into box through metal
-using screws to fasten ply to it will bring moisture and corrosion later on.

Thanks for all the great help I will make a build thread this next week.

1. All wood. Very stable.

2. I'd not recommend wood over steel. Expansion, contraction, movement of the steel will be tough to deal with. And fiberglass over plywood will be very stable.

Take a look at foamies over on tnttt.com. There's a lot more build info and knowledge over there on many construction techniques.
