Body lift?

I drive a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. I recently got some 285/75R16 tires and I have done a good amount of trimming but I still get a slight rub when I am turning offroad.
What do you think about a 1" body lift? Not a 3" or anything but a mild 1". What are the bad things that come with a 1" body lift?

Where's the rubbing? If it's the pinch weld (and you've already bent it over/pounded it flat) then a 1" BL may be the ticket.

You either love or hate a BL. My 98 taco is shoed with the same 285/75R16 tires and I have the 1" BL. I haven't noticed any pinch weld rub issues.

I guess, as long as you are not jumping the truck, or flying down rough roads (think desert racing) you'll be fine. I prefer the 4Crawler (Roger Brown) components since you can pick/choose what you want. Upgrade to the grade 8 fasteners and don't forget to double-check them after installing.

I had the same size tires on stock rims with a 2.75" suspension lift (2001 Tacoma). I had a slight rub on the frame rail. I personally hate a body lift, but if it is just 1" and it will solve your problem then go for it. On my truck with the suspension lift a little more offset on the rims would have solved my problem, but it wasnt bad enough to matter to me. I am considering a 1" BL on my 4runner but I will not go any higher. I do not like the way the frame shows under the truck on a 2-3" and a 1" seems a lot more stable.

I'm running a 1" Rodger Brown BL on mine and it has worked out great. Kind of stinks having to move bumpers and sliders up but 1" of lift on a Tacoma is alot :)
