Boonie's Build.

I got the bumper winch remote plug finished up, the solenoid box hidden from view and the winch is now all wired up and working!

Overall without the winch plate or winch on (was redoing the fairlead mount):

I repositioned the fairlead mounts back further onto the winch plate to put it far enough back so that the plate will hit the rocks/trees/whatever before the fairlead does, I didnt like how it was hanging out past it. Hopefully keeping it from getting messed up and ruining my new fandangled winch rope, which came in last night.

Here is the hook...I'm hoping it's going to be strong enough.

So, I've been a busy little beaver for one day. Went and cleaned the intake and throttle body, it now runs better but still has a hesitation, thinking it's the TPS at this point, but have yet to test it.

So while waiting for gaskets to show up for that portion of my weekend i made these...

Which turned into these:

I have yet to drill them out to the proper hole diameter i want to run, i need to drill them out slightly if i use the metal sleeve portion of the RUF's I have. Which is fine, everything is lined up now and ready to go, I can have this installed on the truck and still have my IFS pimping big!

I still have to do some grinding and put a winch rope plate "guard" along the back to protect the rope from getting gouged on a sharp corner of the body that sticks out.:saw:

Got it painted and the winch backing plate welded on:

So, I mounted the winch/spring mount to the truck. Was wokring to get the winch bolted on and broke a bolt, and the drill was nowhere to be found, so that slowed progress. But here are some pics of the mount in relation to the vehicle:

Sometimes a few different angles are helpful to see different things...

The front bumper and winch are now back on, i haven't welded the front mount on because i want to take the truck in and have the frame rust inspected, JUST IN CASE! I dont want to have to grind it back off the frame.

Here are some measurements for those that want proof of how poorly this will turn out. :p For reference, the truck is in a flat garage and has a 3" lift with 32" tires with 18 1/2" frame height for reference. I plan to use the TG rear shackle mount kit, I like the design better than sky's, I was planning to make my own rear mount but since it measures out to where it will work, i'm going to use it.

Front spring mount: The pin is a little small for the hole i have, but it's about 20 1/2" to the floor.

This is where the spring lays slack at, the mark on the frame is 48" back from the front mount, but i flattened out a spring and it's actually 47" eye to eye. So that will provide a better angle in my opinion. Imagine 1" forward of the mark on the frame as being where the spring will lay under load.

The TG shackles are 5" long, you can use your imagination as to where the shackles will lay.

Installed a new style exhaust header on my 2.7L engine, runs way quieter, the old manifold had two large cracks, one of which almost went completely around the manifold!

Anyways,

Started rebuild one of two E-Lockers this past weekend. And to make my life easier I whipped up a quick and dirty 3rd member stand. So far it has made the job 100 times easier! :welder::saw:

It's ugly, but it was meant for one thing. Note the use of a spider gear from a SAS Chevy Luv project I had years ago. Bling Factor!

The diff looked as though it was living in a peet bog for the past 20 years.

I completely tore down the 3rd to nothing. Here it is on the stand in a tub of it's own filth while cleaning it.

I also tore down and cleaned the locker itself as the bolts holding the case together were only finger tight.......
