Bottle Jack suggestions

Any suggestions out there for a good bottle jack? I am keeping my eyes out for one of those german made, two-stage Land Rover jacks. I like the one offered by alltrade on Amazon, mainly due to the cradle type head on it, but size and weight is probably up there. I might steal the bottle jack off our Excursion or look for one of those too!

I will get a hi-lift when I get around to adding sliders. Atm, I don't have any jack points for it

This would be for our OME lifted Xterra. The Excursion is mainly used for our restaurant duties, more of a workhorse

Only bottle jack I'd consider for any off pavement work would be a 2 stage type - these are pretty cheap...but you get the idea - 12"+ lift is actually useful once the dirt compresses...

Strapping to the wheel/bumper/frame is one work around...Moe

A cheaper option I might look further into. One could just get a welder to make a quick "slip-over" cradle out of steel

I really like that safe jack, but for the money, I think I might as well get sliders and a hi-lift.bust not in the budget for now

I see you know of the Unijack 6000, as referred to by your link above. Are you considering getting one? I bought two, recently, and have used them in my home rebuilding (rafter & joist replacement), and in working on my squareback trailer. Like most off road enthusiast I carry a lot tools and stuff, and in my XJ it tucks nicely between the back seat back and the rubber maid tub in the cargo area, I have 2 tubs across the back and a tool box next to them all strapped down neat and tidy.

Check your Safe Jack, they will not fit under the axle of most truck when the tire is flat.

I use a two stage mechanical screw style bottle jack out of a 80 series land cruiser in my Tacoma. I use a piece of very thick (about 2") plywood I glued up as an "offroad base" to spread the load out, which is carefully routed out on the top layer to firmly accept the jack base.
