what are you guys using for tuners. just looking for a little more power and less turbo lag, and increase fuel economy. Its a 2000 E350 with the 7.3 168k on the clock, all stock.

I have TS 6 pos chip. Bought it from XDP Black Friday sale $200 with tunes.
I have not installed it yet. Working on a few idling issues before I add it. Hope to get everything together next week since I have a few days off for Christmas.

I have yet to get one but I most likely will be going with a dp tuner. Have heard/read good results from the 98-03 7.3 e350 community. TS 6 pos is also good but I think it may be geared toward the 95-97 PSD e350's. I could be wrong though.

you should probably look at more power stroke related forums.

mostly people recommend the tuners they use themselves, without having the opportunity to compare, so imho not much worth it. in every case it would recommend to check results also on a dyno to see it the engine runs good on the whole throttle.

I use DP Tuner for all of our diesels. You can pick what tunes you want, etc. We usually do a high idle with a combination of tow & economy tunes. I would also recommend an exhaust system (Diamond Eye makes a kit for the 7.3) and at least an EGT gauge.

DP Tuner here. Change tune whenever you want. Order custom tunes. I like it the best based on the experience of the all mighty cloud.

Matt Robinsons tunes are strong and mostly smoke free. Very clean. Love them. He does all kinds of different chips.

I went with TS for several reasons.

1. Flexibility - many different people tune on the TS platform. From my research DP can only tune DP chips.

2. Reputation locally. I've ridden in a f250 that has upgraded trans, turbo, fuel sys, exhaust that had a TS custom tuned chip. It helps that the owner is a good friend and diesel mechanic.

3. Value - Hard to discount a chip that can be switched on the fly for $300 not on sale and $200-250 new with tunes if you are patient.

I really wanted the hydra chip. 17 tunes shift on fly can have multiple different tunes from different tuners. Ultimately $ and not truly needing that much in a van made the choice for me.

I will second the Pyro (EGT) gauge and 4" Diamond Eye exhaust. Both of which are waiting in the garage for install for me.

i am all for the exhaust too but have to be sure I don't get the drone, had that in an excursion and it drove me nuts. how is the sound with them. I like the 3 pod style does anyone make one for the e series van, or can I get an edge digital gauge? who makes intakes? I don't like the smoke aspect glad someone brought that up. I have a cummins now and love it, had a 6.0 and had a 6.6 duramax, this is my first 7.3. Plan to run biodiesel in it, and have a great family trip rig that can tow the toys

I have not installed my exhaust. With research some get a drone some so not. I bought the straight pipe Diamond Eye because if I do get drone I would rather pick my muffler based off of others experiences. I have seen several posts about wrapping as much of the exhaust with the header wrap stuff and it cut sound in the van way down. Outside it still sounded awesome. Keep an eye out for the Diamond Eye kits on eBay or Amazon I got mine for $250
Shipped through eBay last week.

Autometer and Glowshift both made 3 gauge pods for the eseries. Autometer is better quality. You can run Edge gauges if you prefer.

Only intakes are DIY. I am considering moving the passenger side battery to the frame and build a custom intake there.

Be careful running homemade biodiesel. Injectors aren't cheap.

Now if I could only find a build where a reasonable air-air inter cooler was added.

I would rec. Swamps or Gearhead for tunes. They both do very good work and help with getting shifting dialed in.

Get gauges as well. If not looking to spend a lot get just the EGT. Intake and 4" will help all the way around.
