Thanks TX. Hopefully I can pick your brain on the phone some time. With an hour left before we can take the car back, after some disagreements between the missus and I, it looks like we'll keep it for now. We got it below Kelly Blue Book value including taxes, so I'll give it a chance for a bit. We did buy a $2000 extended warranty from Western general, and after some research, I've discovered they deny coverage on almost everything, with lots of ripoff reports, so I think I'll cancel that warranty, get the $2000 back and use it for tires and the lift. I don't want the warranty to stop me from doing what I want regardless, and I doubt I'll get $2000 more if I sell it with it in place (24 month/24k miles).
As for the wheels in the air issues, they seem to be more common on the rear, so a rear ARB with CDL on should take care of that dilemma. Now to decide what to do with the shocks. Until I know if I'm keeping it, I think the best way to lift it is to keep the air ride system and buttons in the console. I like what they did with trail lex, which was to cut the shock and weld in a sleeve. Thing is my truck has 100,000 miles on it, so chances are the shocks are done anyway, and maybe the front coils too. If I replace with OEM air shocks and extend them, I'll have to put new coils. Then again, not sure how to extend the rear. If I've been reading right, running without the adjustable shocks does not make dash lights come on correct? Also, I've read about toyotech spacers for the rear bags, but can't seem to find them online. Are they still made? Lastly, do you need to run extended lines by lifting the truck? Thanks for the advice.
