Thanks for the info on the lift system. Sounds like the way to go. Right now I'm still in the design/wishlist phase. Hopefully I can get started in a couple of weeks. Hope it turns out as well as yours has!

Thanks for posting this!

Great looking trailer will lots of great ideas!

I will certainly borrow a few notes for my own build in the coming months

Great job on this build Adam. Saved this thread for ideas when I start modding my trailer. I've been thinking lid with the RTT, but I really like the idea of of your lift arms. Just recently picked up a welder and trying to learn the craft. Seems like it's as much of a gift as something you can learn.

I just went through your build for like the 10th time. Simply awesome.

Do you happen to have any pics of how you fit the 6 of you in the tent and annex? I'm trying to convice my wife that we can easily fit us and a couple kids.

I'll have to look through my pics again. I don't think I have anything that shows all 6 of us in there. If you have the same tent you'll easily sleep 4. There is plenty of room for my wife and I in the tent. And a queen size air mattress fits behind the ladder in the annex which could hold two kids for sure.

You've gotta remember that the footprint of the annex is 8'x8'. That a pretty good amount of space.

Do you have any shots of how your attached the actual wheel mount for your swing out on the trailer? I'm a shameless copier, and your design is just excellent, I would love to do something similar on my 416. I tried mounting the spare under the bed, but it just didn't work out...

Thanks for sharing your creative work! (photos and otherwise!)

This is the best I have. Sorry not a great pic. I have a 2" peice of sq tube that is triangulated for strength for the wheel mount.

Did you just cut out the round piece for the tire flange or buy it somewhere. I don't have a cutter, so this is of concern. Also, what size and thickness of tubing did you utilize? Looks like 1.5" square for the long pieces and 1.5" X 2" for the ends and support pieces?

Thanks again!

Cheers!

The entire swing out is built from 1.5" sq tube with the exception of the 2" sq tube used for the wheel mount. I purchased a precut 3/16" disc for the actual wheel mount and welded the studs to it. I found it at our local steel place. They had lots of different sizes of steel discs. The supports for the hinge and the latch are 1x2" tube.
