Brake Light Illuminated

Hello All,

Happy to report that I have successfully returned from Baja (got as far south as Lorreto) and my 94' LS did not break down on me. I have a couple of issues that I am trying to sort out.

The first being my brakes / brake light. When the car is first started, mostly cold mornings the brake light will be on, most of the time after driving for awhile it will eventually turn off and will stay off when restarted that day. Any ideas?

Second is the sideview mirror shaking that occurs at higher speed. I have tried tightening the screws and it helps somewhat but did not fix the problem.

I am now also hearing one click at times when I take a corner at low speed, mostly just right turns I think.

My driver side window shakes when opened anywhere in between the fully closed and fully open position at speed.

Thanks all

Check your fluid level, it's probably warming up and expanding from driving and pushing the sensor up once warm. It's likely just at the fill line.

inspect your outer CV axle boots, jack up the car and turn the steering to full lock, rotate the front wheel and CV's and listen for the clicking. probably time to service them.

The brake fluid master cylinder is right below the max line. Maybe the sensor is sticking? Will check the CV boots, thank you for your help.

You may also want to check the master cylinder cap. There is a diaphragm in the cap that can invert and cause the float to be pushed down.

On the mirror issue is it the whole assembly shaking or just the mirror part? Mine was doing that when one of the three attachment points between mirror and the motor panel broke.
Window, issue maybe part that attaches to the glass at the bottom (2 nuts I believe) is loose or coming off the track. Complete drop in assemblies are available that include motor, track and cables./

It was just the mirror part, one of the tabs was broken, I rip tied it tight and now it is fixed. Thank you.

Rip tides can be dangerous. I solved my mirrors-a-shakin' on my 95 with broken tabs behind the glass by using hot melt glue to secure the glass section to the base. Mine are electric and they still adjust but don't shake a lick, even five years after the fix. It's the only thing I've seen that works, adhesive-wise.
