Brake lights not working?

Hey ya'll. So I have a small issue with my 95 montero SR. When I turn the headlights on, the tail lights work. Turn signals are good, and reverse lights work, but no brake lights. Even with the headlights off the brake lights(including center stop lamp) do not illuminate. A little back story, the previous owner had an aftermarket trailer harness installed, and I removed it hoping it would fix the problem, but with no luck. Do these cars have tail lamp modules that go bad? I had this issue a while back on a Lexus rx300 and I replaced the taillamp module which fixed it. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue before I spend hours tracing electrical gremlins. Any help is appreciated and I love this truck!

there is a switch on the pedal when the pedal is pressed you should see 12v on both sides of it without pushing it 12v will only be on one side.

Problem solved. Traced it back to the #17 stop lamp fuse. The terminals inside the junction block were completely loose and the fuse wasn't making a good contact. Bent the terminals back and the fuse fit nice and snug. All lights are now working as designed

Great, but you might want to replace the brake switch anyway. These rigs aren't getting any younger, and your about due.

Thank you for the advice sir, just ordered one. Now to figure out why my dome lights aren't working. Front map lights and visor lights work, but no domes. Already replaced the bulbs. Any ideas?

Have you tested the door switch on the drivers side jamb (B pillar)? It's just a simple plunger switch, much like the brake switch

When I first got the truck, none of the buzzers worked, no door chime, headlight on chime, or ignition chime. I replaced the drivers door jamb switch and all the buzzers came back. I'm starting to think that maybe there's a loose connection somewhere in the harness. When I get w chance I'll trace the diagram and see if I'm getting power
