I'm looking for brake pads that won't squeak. Currently running the mid range napa's. Any suggestions on pads that will be quiet?

Thanks
Eric

AutohausAZ sells "special anti-squeak shims"

I get no squeak from mine, but I have no idea what they are. I seem to recall having good luck with Axxis (formerly PBR) Metal Masters.

What would the life of a rotor be? I have a tad over 92000 it has a lip on it the rotors are pretty smooth. I may just get new rotors and pads. Any one had ABS issues from brake pads? I had a guy read my codes and said that the brakes may be my problem of low and erratic out put on my sensors.

So my rotors look good fairly smooth all the way around wasn't driven on bad pads. If I go to new pads will this fix my squeal or will older rotors and new pads still squeal?

I just ordered the EBC Ultimax front and rear. I'm guessing I can get anti seaze at the parts store.

It says that these pads do not need to be bedded in.

We'll see if this helps with my ABS issues.

Thanks,

Eric

I absolutely hated the EBC pads. They typically make more of an aggressive pad that needs more heat. They ended up being horrible when I would be driving at low speeds such as offroading. They just won't grab when they are cold.

I find it interesting that you asked for opinions, two people recommended using Ferodo who have personal experience with them and you chose to buy something else without even asking for an opinion of them.

Read reviews, price was a factor. Appreciate opinions and the help. If I don't like them I'll move on later can't be any worse than what I have now and yes I know if I change out later I'll end up spending more but I'm willing to take that chance now.

99% of my time is on paved roads.

Thanks,

Price was a factor? The Ferodos are great pads and not terribly expensive. Few things people shouldn't skimp on and that is brakes.

While you have your brakes apart anyway, take the rotors off and have them checked. It's not expensive, and a professional can tell you if you need new ones or not. Just because they are smooth doesn't mean they are usable. They could be warped. Who knows.
