break in period following a top end rebuild?

I just had all my valve guide stem seals replaced in addition to my valve lash adjusters/lifters. The mechanic changed the oil and I'm not sure what he put in...guessing regular old 10w or 5w-30. I should ask him.

At any rate...is there any reason to drive differently or do a short oil change interval or run a different oil after this kind of work?

This may be a silly question but so far in life I've never had to do any kind of rebuilds on any motors I've driven (mostly VW)....I even have almost 300k on one of them. Good oil and regular maintenance has always kept my motors happy.

Yeah, if you didn't do new piston rings, you shouldn't have to do anything different.
