Budgetroamer. Custom Chevy 3500 with Bigfoot camper

Offering my custom built camper rig. Nicknamed Budgetroamer. Made to wander and has served me very well, but my new build is on its way. Built it in 2015.

The truck. Started life as a 2004 Chevrolet 3500 dually longbox. Engine is the big 8.1L mated to an Allison automatic transmission. Truck currently has 220000km. Motor pulls like a diesel, has a bulldog programmer with full exhaust and intake and a few other engine upgrades. All is mechanically sound. Gas engine was chosen for finding fuel in remote areas, (it's been to Baja) and ease of maintenance. Fuel mileage is as expected, but still a cheaper running cost than a diesel. And if the motor blows, it's cheap versus $8k for a diesel...plus no costly maintenance.
The truck was repainted pearl white, and the lowers sprayed with truck bed liner with huge cutout front fender flares. No rust. A Zone off-road 3" lift kit was installed with Bilstein shocks. Also air bags installed in the rear. Front custom bumper with big winch and off-road led lights also installed. Custom headlights, roof lights, updated mirrors, the list goes on...
The dually box was removed and a custom deck made to match the camper. The dually tires removed in favor of a single 265x19.5 commercial all position off-road tires (true 35"), mounted on Vision aluminum rims. Works better off-road, much better weight capacity than a dually and the tires will never wear out. The custom box was made at Falcan and is a work or art. Mates perfectly to the shortbox camper, lots or extra storage capacity. Deck also has a hidden gooseneck ball in case you need the truck to double as a tow rig. Rear led lights for nighttime loading built into deck. Deck is also spray with truck bed liner. And powder coated internally. Was big $$$.
Interior of the truck is mint, rubber floor model with manual 4x4 transfer case. Full option load with indash screen with DVD movies, sat radio, and full custom sound system also.

The camper is a 2009 Bigfoot camper anniversary edition. These are near $60k new. It's a fully loaded shortbox edition in near mint condition, only option missing is the generator, but it is fully prepped for one with built in controls. I never opted for a Genny, added solar panels, a new 4 stage inverter system and big batteries. All lighting changed to LED. The air conditioning and microwave are the only things that require AC power, so i carry a small genny for emergencies. Camper is so we'll insulated, the air is pointless.. TV system also operates on 12V, so rarely needs the genny. I never plug this rig into shore power and it always stays fully charged from the solar. I had a custom step platform made for the camper to make entrance easier and to allow to pull a small trailer without having to unhook. Camper has huge tanks, can run down to -15 with water and has wet bath/shower.

So much I'm forgetting, best call me or come check it out. Also can sell the matching all aluminum 5x10 enclosed trailer. Trailer can carry 4 dirtbikes, and is fully finished inside with cabinets and tool boxes. Shown in last pic.

Asking $50k Cdn/$40k US

"much better weight capacity than a dually and the tires will never wear out" hmmm :)

Budgetroamer is a great description

Do you know what the wet weight is and the distribution? I had a very similar setup except on a 550 diesel dually.

I lost this info, I did weigh before and after it was completed. All I remember is originally the camper on the stock dually 16s was way overweight. That camper is heavy.

19.5s fixed it with lots of headroom. Less body roll and sway too. Took awhile to get the air pressures right.

Is there heat?
How easy is the camper to demount, and what kind of bed is under it?
How about more pics of the inside?

Heat? Like furnace? Yeah it's fully heated. Google bigfoot 25c9.4, lots of pics, haven't changed much over the years. It's a four season camper to -15C with water in the tanks. Can run colder but freezing pipes could happen, best to run dry.

Camper comes off like any camper. Power happyjacks. Flatdeck underneath with hidden flip gooseneck and multiple flush tie down.

Yep. Import is pretty easy to the states. Basically pay the fees and send paperwork at least 48 hrs ahead to crossing of choice. Couple forms you need to download and do with EPA and Dot. All on the CBP website.
