Bug Out Utility Trailer Build for Gladiator

Nice build and I really like the colour coordination. (y) I'm doing the same with my Jeep LJ and trailer ... coincidentally grey.

I never considered my OSB BOX a bug out trailer but last summer as the forest fires raged and we were on evacuation alert... that trailer was ready to "bug out". Thankfully we never got the order but we hosted lots of campers forced to abandon their homes who were only a half hour south.

Last year, June 28th was the hot day....

Had the opportunity to camp at a work event (that's rare, right?) Brainerd Raceway in Northern MN. Not exactly off grid, but an excellent testing opportunity. Unfortunately, solar panel underperformed all weekend. I was definitely facing North, but I feel like it should have done better. Was down to 11.6 volts and fridge was even pissed off. Will do some testing before end of the month trip.

Not going to lie. This is the exact setup I am looking to build. I too have a gladiator in stingrey and I’m looking to be able to put a motorcycle or two on the trailer and use it for camping. These are two other builds that I am
Using as a starting point (yours too). My main concern/ requirement is it needs to be able to fit a motorcycle that is right over 7’.

What are your thoughts on using a 5x8 as a starting point? I which I could fab the frame but I don’t know how to weld.

Have not been back here in a bit! I considered using a 5x8 trailer as my starting point until I realized the axle is too frail to tolerate big tires and off road use, the springs are far too weak and the frames on your typical little trailer are just not designed to do what I wanted. Even the hitch on most of them is 1 7/8". I wheeled it back out of the garage and started drawing what you see here.

BTW, mine will be for sale later this month. Building a van next.
