Darryl, long time no see! Great to hear you're working on another build! I just picked up a high mile 2000 LC and a friend from work picked up a 1997 LC this past week... I'll be working on getting mine set up shortly... Semper Fidelis mate, Eric

Eric, good to hear from you!!! You still doing the same gig?

I'd still like to come out there and see you. Thought we were going to be in SD in January , I keep recruiting for the Big Green Gun Team and the latest victim graduates then. We aren't going to be able to make it out. We are for sure going to Pismo in November 2010.

Have fun with the new truck, attach some pictures.

A few more parts came in and the rear diff with the 4.88's and ARB locker. Should have most of the rear axle done this weekend.

Don't bump that copper airline when you stick that diff back in the housing. It is heavy, and you know you are not your old 21 year old self anymore. :D

Finally got things wrapped up on the axle work. 4.88 Gears, ARB lockers, all new bearings and brakes now installed and being broken in.

With running 35 inch tires, in the few miles I have on the 4.88's there is slight notice of the regained umph!!! Especially in the lower RPM range. I feel with this tire size 4.88's are the way to go, 4.56's would do the trick as well but with living at the base of the Rockies I'm sure I will benifit from the lower gears. My old truck with the same gear and tire combo at 75 mph I was at 2800 rpm which is about where the truck ran in the stock configuration.

I haven't added it all up, but with all the new parts 100% Toyota, with the exception of the Gears, Lockers, Compressor and Rotors I probably could have taken a long vacation, guess I'll have to live out of it for a while! :sombrero:

Up next will be wiring of some electrical items, compressor, locker switches, lights. Adding sliders, seat covers as well as doing some more tune up items.

Should be ready for the trip to AZ for the OvEx 2010!!! :wings:

Right on! Good to read of the progress. Sounds like a very livable ratio and tire size. Let us know how it works out in the high(er) country.

Been slacking a bit on the updates, plus what fun is it with no photos.

Here is a list of the current work in progress...

Floor mats
Seat covers
Hooking up rack lights
All Toyota switches and locker control
Interior fuse box & 12v plugs
Under hood relays and fuses
Odessy 1700 battery
ARB compressor
Step sliders
Skid plate
Rear roller drawers

I plan to either add to or replace my roof rack lights with LED's at some point. They are pretty pricey, so it may be a while. I'll add some to the tire carrier once I decide on a bumper. Also I plan to run some small "puck" style LED's to the under side of the truck not as rock lights but to have some mood lighting while in camp. :sombrero: I saw guys running them at Pismo Beach while on night runs and it worked great for other vehicles to see you from all sides.

I think that's it for now, I think we're ready to roll out to OVEXPO!!!! :wings:
