Picked up a 76 rhd S3 earlier in the summer. I am going to work to make it more drivable for trips. i like the basic ruggedness, but sometgings afe going to have to change.

The plan is as follows...

Disco axles, brake plumbing/mc upgrade, engine swap is not decided yet. Interior repairs as there is rust. Two rear forward facing buckets, alpine windows, larger/sliding rear windows, swing out spare tire/Jerry can holder. Custom exo cage and roof rack. Drawer system and various storage solutions...

And I am sure...a boatload of other fun changes.

I have gapped the plugs and messed around with various other parts and have been driving it for the past few months. Yes the tires are terrible, but they came with the truck.

Pulled the sediment bowl.

Going to pull the tank and seal it soon.

Took off door tops...look what I found in the channels!

Next up is the blower motor for the heating system...housing is completely rotted out. :)

Cool little truck! Get to that tank sooner than later. That particular issue will start to cause all sorts of problems.
Love those custom rear bench seats. Lazy-boy?

Nice series. Your resto plans are much more ambitious than mine, I'm just trying to bleed my brakes
