i finally but the bullet, pun intended, and ordered the triple ball with two universal phone mounts for my ram. the components are so well made. the phone mount appears to be solid aluminum. no cheap plastic. i just mounted it so on my way home ill see if i get any rattles.

I have their mount in my Jeep, which is a nice piece of kit. The arm did fail on me where the carbon fiber tube joins the aluminum lug. It really seemed like a defect as there was very little glue in the joint, like it was only contacting maybe a third of the area. I sanded it out and just used some JB weld epoxy to put it back together, and it has been fine.
