Bumper in progress...a few more welds and cleanup and it's off to powdercoating.....Set up for 2 pairs of Rigid Industries LED lights (Dually D2XL in hyperspot and driving patterns), I've included the 2 inch hoop (which will get 2 more upright stanchions), monster tow hook eyes w/ small tabs underneath to zip tie the tow eyes, so they don't clank around, and a 2' receiver. We dropped the bottom a bit lower than the stock bumper to protect the radiator etc..and a couple of rubber snubbers for shoving cars and butting up to walls. The hoop is 2" tubing and there is 9" clearance between the bumper deck and bottom of tube.
first time trying pics...hope this works.

Nice!

Watching you from a ridge
Looks good. Good idea to make it wide enough that you can actually stand on it and access the windshield and roof rack.

It's being done by a race car shop here in the Seattle area, run by some relatively young guys. When it's done, I'll post some more pics and put interested parties in touch with them directly. Proposed cost is $2000 w/ powdercoat (I've told them I think they're worth more). We've sort of designed it on the fly and I've made some changes along the way...I didn't want a large folding brushguard that I might forget to drop when tilting the cab, so I chose this small fixed version instead w/ no headlight guards. I originally wanted 7" round driving lights, vacillated w/ a recessed LED light bar and finally decided that the square LEDs are the most likely design to survive and be consistently supported. Low power draw on the relatively anemic charging system is a plus. I didn't want a permanently mounted winch etc. Some people will want winches, bigger brush guards, different lights etc....If there's interest on the forum, I think the guys will formulate a little plan which will probably require a customer to send them their preferred lights (the lights have frenched tunnels, not just holes in the sheet metal)...They do nice work....

LOL....I just tilt the cab to access that stuff....The idea behind the protrusion was more to allow for an aesthetically pleasing brushguard that could be permanently affixed to let the cab tilt....but also, so that if I butted up to a wall, the bumper itself makes contact first.
