Bumper options for DII

The angle of approach of the TJM is better than the ARB
I am looking into the EQUIPE Winchbumper A-Bar, it should give protection to the cooling system and the angle of approach is very good. Also I am considering weight.

Paint it (the resivoir)black, it's better to have it and not need it than to get stuck behind a big truck on a wet road and not have the sprayers to clean the winshield...

FourbyLand is in Southern California.

I'd rather have a device that zapped people who are on the cell phone when I pulled the washer lever than actual washers. People on phones are lame over here because they're all on them (unrelated...I know. Rant over).

For the rear bumper, consider a Greg Davis bumper and a fuel tank skid plate. It significantly improves the departure angle which is the greatest limitation of the DII.

Still undecided. Being pretty conservative offroad, I think the TJM bumper is most appealing to me. I'm just trying to decide if I should go with the simple blade bumper or the full on bull bar. Bull bar looks nice but by no means necessary for what I do. Sure is a chunk of change to part with, too.
 
Flounder,

I have had the TJM (no bull bar) on my truck for several years and it has held up very well. I have the recovery hooks installed on the winch plate (EE style).

Excellent. If you have a photo to post, I'd really appreciate it. Was fitment of the winch a challenge? If you had it to do over again would you go for the bull bar or the regular bumper?

Flounder, Unfortunately I don't think I have any pics of the installation.

You'll find lots of pictures of my truck with the TJM (tan colored DII) and some other members trucks with alternative setups.

The installation wasn't bad. I'm not a fan of bull bars so I'd choose the T17 again.

Thank you for the link Sharkman. Great photos. Lots of sweet looking Discos including yours. I think I'll go with the TJM T17 sans bull bar. I want to keep weight down as much as possible, so that will help. Plus, all bull bars cover up the "Land Rover" on the hood.
