Buying tires online? which site? Advice needed.

I am looking to outfit my Taco with four 265/75r16 Cooper Tire Discoverer S/Ts. Now that I have definitively decided the size and brand I am going with I started looking for the best price.

The local Farm and Fleet is selling them at $165.99 per tire. Which for four equals out to be $663.96 if they don't charge me any shipping. A site I have never used before called tires-easy.com offers them $114.90 for four and $113.05 for shipping all four for a total of $572.65. Problem is that I have read some bad reviews for this site on bizrate. Anyone here used them?

Does anyone have another place to get these tires at a bargain? Online or not. I don't think Tirerack.com carries cooper, and they are the only online vendor I have used besides ebay. Thanks all and cheers!

Each time i need tires i use http://www.discounttire.com/

I've order many times from discounttire (americas tire) and each time had them ship directly to their local store with the discounted price. I then have them mounted/balanced when they come in. My tires are special order. Never had a problem once. Ordered probably 4 different times and tires usually arrive within 1-2 days. They give me a call when they're in and i don't pay a dime till they arrive.

Try Desert Rat, they carry Cooper, and can ship you your tires, rims, caps, lug nuts as a package deal if you want. I know only one person who has ordered from them, (my brother) and he was happy with the transaction. He priced every place on the web for each part, and Desert Rat matched each lowest price to assemble and ship his order.

Ok, I just checked their site, and they only list the Cooper STT. Still worth a call, though!

I've had the Discount Tire brick and mortar stores get in tires that they don't list online. They can get just about anything. And if you're real lucky, they'll even screw up the pricing and sell them to you at cost!

225/50/16 Toyo RA-1 for ~$90 each, woohoo!

I bought my last set of tires from www.tiresavings.com

I had a great experience, and plan on buying from them again the next time I need tires. Even after shipping costs, my local tire places couldn't beat their prices.

onlinetires.com is real cheap. Cheapest place for toyo mts so I assume they have some good prices on the coopers.

I've ordered Maxxis Bighorns off of Ebay from an Ebay store with no problems at all.. (4) 32x11.5x15's shipped to the door for $550.

The company I worked with was great, had a conversation or two over the phone to verify everything was correct.

I've had good luck with Summit Racing. I got screwed once by national wheel and tire. Find out who and how they will be shipped before you buy. Some vendors use small shipping companies who are a pain to deal with. National wheel and tire used a company who could not find my house for ~2 weeks. The driver told me he drove up and down every street in town. We only have one street. They eventually dropped it at my place of work b/c I had also given them my work phone #. The driver refused to unload them, the recipient is responsible for that, so our secretary (100lbs) got to unload and roll (5) 36 swampers off the truck into the office:violent-smiley-031:

How much do you save after they're mounted and balanced? Also will all stores mount them if you did not buy them there? Just a few questions I have as I am considering buying on-line, but I am going to check my local discount tire first.

$572.65 plus about $20 per tire to mount/balance is $652.65. That's if can find some place to mount them for $20 each! Savings go down to almost nothing at this point.

Plus most places offer free tire rotation for life if you Buy from them (local). If your tire life is 50,000 miles, that would be 17 free tire rotations (every 3000 mile)!

Just my thoughts.....

Tim and Kelsey get lost..
Discount wheel warehouse had the cheapest prices when I got my coopers. $116 a tire for 255-85-16 Cooper ST's.
I don't trust them though. The site said no shipping and they charged me shipping.
