CA Trailer tags

Hey guys,
Moving at the end of the month and REALLY need to get expired MD tag off my trailer.

Checked a few places on the web. It looks like I just need to fill out a form and bring the title with me for the trailer to the DMV. Nothing states that I need a vin check like a vehicle.

does that sound right? This would be a little easier than me dragging the trailer around the valley for a day.

THanks
Jason

:sombrero: Unless there's been a change since I did mine 3 years ago---

They've got to actually see the trailer and compare the title against the label on the trailer, unless it's a new built !!

Good luck

Ok, that's what I was wondering... I think I'll go hit AAA

AAA wanted to see and verify two, yes two vin numbers on my M101CDN. They claimed that's what their contract with DMV stated - that they had to verify two vin tag placements. Personally, I don't think the ladies wanted to go out in the rain that day to verify the vin tag! PO had registered it as a home built in AZ to avoid the hassles of trying to register a CDN trailer here in the states. Well, there is only one on a trailer like these anyway - and a home made plate at that since the CDN vin plate had been removed, so I ended up having to take the trailer to DMV anyway! Just what I'd been trying to avoid! AAA did take my fees. That basically stopped the ticking clock for legally registering a vehicle/trailer here in CA. No appt., just showed up about 15 minutes before opening and stood in line. Appt's were out about 2-3 weeks at best! Total DMV time was about an hour or so since I had to wait for the inspector to take a kid out for his driving test first! Kid passed, but looked nervous as hell! Kind of funny to watch as they drove out! Worth the time spent at DMV to see these kids headed out for driving test sweating bullets! hehehe
