California Adventures M1102 Build (2019)

Nice. I haven’t had an issue backing it up and the brakes seem to work pretty well. I rolled it into my backyard (on concrete today) I’m guessing it around 1900# now. Wasn’t too tough too push around, but is heavy trying to lift or move around in the dirt.

I like it being a little heavier, so it doesn’t bounce around as much on the rough LA roads.

The Diesel Excursion pulls it like nothing

I’m not sure on material. I do know it’s 2” square tube and 1 7/8” round tube with corner gussets and steel toolboxes I found locally

Starting to look at batteries and solar. I’m thinking 200ah of batteries (1x 200ah or 2x 100ah) and 200watts of solar. I’m new to this, so calculating charging times. Looks like most charge controllers charge at a max of 6amps per hour. 6amps x 9-10 hours of sun = 54-60ah per day. May want to start with one 100ah battery, unless I feel I have the need for extra.

Will be running:
- LED tent light
- LED trailer and storage bins lights (only use when needed)
- LED twinkly lights around the tent and awnings for ambient light (will run all evening)
- LED 1080p projector with Bose sound system running off power inverter
- Electric blanket (cold nights)
- Mini Electric heater (colder nights)
- Diesel heater fan (coldest nights)

Nice setup, looks like you spent some time planning and it shows. I would ditch the idea of the poly tongue box and either get a steel one to match the bed boxes or an Alu one. I've had 2 and neither held up like I would like. They're cheap for a reason.

Are the fixed support legs standard on the GI's?

Yes, I have decided against any box on the front. I’m going to stow everything inside including the battery. Lots of room for gear and everything will be better inside.

NEW SHOCKS
Needed some bigger tools!
1.5” socket and bigger crescent wrench worked to get the job done. Finished with some RED liquid wrench to keep the massive nuts tight.

Started organizing to install most of the electronic and charging system. 12 and 14 gauge wiring, 10amp waterproof NOCO Genius charger, 1500 watt invertor and cutting hole saws for the toolboxes. I did decide to return the switch panel and buy a self contained switch box. Will have more photos this weekend.
