I've been using nato cans for over a decade in Cali and never had a problem but I used to carry them in the vehicle since they NEVER EVER leaked even fumes much less liquid fuel. The old non-Carb red metal Blitz Jerry cans with a screw on metal cap requiring superman strength or a tool to tighten it? Fogetabowtit! Fumes would have killed you if you kept them inside.
Nowadays though I'm keeping them on the roof so I'm not sure how I'll fare or if they would stop me for them being up there.
Is the law just 'you can't buy a non-carb new one' or 'you can't even use an old one'?
