Yowsers.:Wow1: 8500 original miles... full history... what a gem.
Although, I almost feel bad that it has barely been driven since the event.
That's the bad part of having a CT110-with the very detailed histories of these Rovers and the real and potential values associated it's often best to not risk it by driving much, if at all. I was lucky to check one out in person complete with all damage from the event (Mongolia) down to dirt on the floor! There was some surface rust on one of the creased dents that I asked about, the owner said he'd love to clean that up but he couldn't because it had been documented. I thought it was cool how the build by the special vehicles section wasn't all that different than the builds I've seen here-in fact many are better. That CT110 was a forward support vehicle for the Disco's that were used in the actual competition but even it was untouchable in a way. It would be fun to get a 110 from the era and build up a replica that you could use without fear of killing your investment. i guess it's like having a vintage Ferrari in a way, when the money at risk is more than your first house it makes you a little nervous.
Since this one has been repainted and the engine either rebuilt or replaced(not very clear) the value is diminished. I'm also dubious of the restoration listed, first the seller says it was done by the factory after the event but then he mentions it in relation to the re-spray in 2007. That would further diminish the value a lot which maybe why it's listed for 30k GBP and not 100k GBP.
