Very nice.
My last two digitalis have been Sony's, and I am looking to replace my current one.

...and this is exactly why sites like T.O.P and the Luminous Landscape have become almost irrelevant to most people.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the camera itself, but how does a website award a title like this without having even touched the camera? It's like giving a car of the year award away without even driving the vehicles. I really wish The Online Photographer would just stick to talking about photography and leave gear reviews to those who have actually used them.

I bet the Pentax K5 will win TOP's camera of the year.

I second the K5 will be number one with TOP. Luminous-Landscape ,I think, will vote the Panasonic GH2 as its camera of the year. Personally. I don´t give a damn which camera is number one at any site. I can´t remember which camera was #1 at any site for 2009. I was going to say I am more interested in the Photographer of the Year but then I would have to see what is camera is and then am I going to say that his camera has to be #1 for 2010? No, because I recall "it´s the photographer and not the camera that matters." My choices for equipment of the year for 2010 are my 6 year old Panny FZ20 and my 2 year old Flip camcorder. They both took some harsh punishment of dust. clouds of dirt and barrages of rocks the Baja 500 has a habit of doing by getting to close to the action and they still operate daily.

Clearly you are passionate about your choices. I agree with them, and am glad you saw fit to post it twice. :coffeedrink:

Michael. Thanks for pointing out my double posting. Your message was terrific and has me laughing as I am typing. Hopefully, I will click the "submit reply" only once. George

I agree - such an award is pretty silly and definitely uselsess for anyone considering a camera.

Best camera.

The best camera is the one you had with you when that perfect moment came up. Wife and I were embarking on a minor hike behind Jumbo Rocks campground in JT. She says"Honey,is that a cat?" I had my Canon SD1100 Elph on me and shot 4 pictures of a beautiful bobcat before it split. Luckily had it on max MP's so the cropped blowups came out super. I miss that camera and it's optical viewfinder(why no more viewfinders on the small cameras anymore ?). It bit the dust due to dirt in the lens mechanism.
