Camera under the van to see the crazy stuff we travel over?

We have rigged GoPros for temp use, the key thing we found was that they get dirty so darn fast. So if you go this route be sure you can easily get to the camera to clean it. You may find it better to put in a permanent mount and then remove the camera when not needed. Because either way you will have some prep time. If it's a permanent mount you will want to stop and clean it before you think you are going to film something cool. And if a removable one you need to stop and install it.

But I like the idea of some tough and sturdy mounts. We are actually putting some on our Mog this month for GoPro's. I am picky with image quality, so none of the backup cams nor pinhole cameras would cut it.

What I like about this is you could use it while driving down the road and evaluating your surroundings, plus you could use it as security around your vehicle.

Yes, we all should worry about "perimeter Security"

haha jk.

Don't a lot of new vehicles have the 360 degree camera views? A few months ago I called an Uber to take me to the airport and a lady in a very luxurious mini van picked me up and on her screen instead of nav she had 4 cameras on the screen and she told me it was her 360 degree camera. Pretty cool.

Is the goal here to record something or is it just to act as a spotter?

For me its kinda both and fun. Again, with lots of kids...they will like to see rocks and fish.....for me its to make sure I have the clearance and tire placement I think I have...for us its making movies. Running in the desert may be different than were some of you roll. But there is always big rocks and ruts in the way where we go
