Camp Chairs

I’ll put in my vote for the classic Frontrunner Expander chair. Main advantage is it folds up into a tiny space (my critical requirement, with a pretty compact rig), about 17” square. Not expensive ($80, maybe $65 on sale), sturdy and long-lasting, though there is a Chinese Coleman knockoff I’ve seen in Target for even less.

Weight rating is a bit marginal though at 253 lbs

This was going to be my suggestion! Best camping chair ever. And they make a storage bag for two chairs.

I'm officially in the market for a new camp chair or two. I have been using my trusty tommy Bahama Costco chairs for well over a decade. Was camping recently and everyone had a nice chair except for me so I want to upgrade. I have a $100 gift certificate to REI that I got for xmas so my intent is to spend in at REI

Just remember, we're getting older and low chairs are a biotch to get out of, sometimes.

My requirement for camping chair is mesh everywhere, reclining sort of shape and back not too short, I had been using Alps Mountaineeing Getwaway chairs for years, to me it's the best.

Interesting.... I wouldn't think canvas would hold up long term in th elements (I normally put my chair under my rig at night) and leave mine outside during the day.

I have a pile of chairs.

ARB - heavy duty but I hate the metal arm rests. They get really cold or hot
REI - They have an all mesh chair that is awesome for hot weather - no more swamp butt
Coleman - Similar to the REI but solid back/bottom for colder weather
Kijaro - highly rated but it's super long when folded with pointy feet
Helinox - Very expensive, light weight and small, but finicky to assemble and not very sturdy
Zero Gravity type - Huge and heavy when folded, but the most comfortable.

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect camp chair.

I actually use caping chairs as my daily furniture for decades, don't own or use any other seats, Alps Mountaineering Getaway had suited me perfectly with this kind of heavy use. It's mesh and if it's really cold I just throw a cover on it.
I also had used Eureka! chair similar to this one and it was perfect, for many years, impossible to replace now as company had exited North America, so I just keep reparing it
