Camp footwear

I can't stand flip-flops. Haven't been able to wear them since I was a kid. I never could understand how other people wear them as just regular shoes. I must have abnormal feet or something.
....

I can't walk in them either. Besides, nobody wants to see man-feet. Just nasty.

Recommend any in particular, rather expensive but they do seen good quality.

I got my pair at BJ's Wholesale. They took a stab a selling the men's line and it tanked. They had a pair in my size on the shelf for months; I walked in last year and offered them $45 for them and they took it.

Mountain Equipment Coop sells them in Canada as well. They ship to the US. They have multiple heights etc, some have a rubberized coating so they are good in snow for short periods (read: peeing in the middle of the night )

I love Pakems. They're easy to clean is one thing. They have a good sole, slip on in an easy one-handed effort. They come with a bomber little bag to keep everything around them cleaned when packed up.

I did a review of them on ExPo's home page, and while I got mocked for that review and for wearing them around camp....I have noticed more of them around the fire.

Great lightweight shoes I often take backpacking. Don't wear them too much. They have so little support, they kill your feet after a while.

There are hundreds of Sanuk styles to chose from. All make for great camp shoes. They really do weigh nothing.

I 100 percent second the sanuks. I have a half dozen pairs, wear them summer, have lined ones for winter (if its not wet), I wear them ALL the time. If I am in the bush, I wear my timberland boots, and toss a pair or two of sanuks in the rig to wear when I am done.

I am sending them an email to make a lined high boot made with some water resistance, and a rubber boot version. ha ha. That way I can have my comfy sanuks for rain and slop too.

For a warm slip on boot I picked up a pair made by ACORN has a nice fit.

For fall, winter, and spring camping, I really like my Ugg mid-top boots for wearing around camp in the evening and early morning. During the day, I usually just wear my hiking boots or hiking shoes.

I might look into those slip-on Merrell shoes for daytime loafing around the campsite and for highway driving to and from adventures.
