The star shots are actually just using my Nikon D800E and 14mm lens, I tried some moon shots later but wasn't happy with them and couldn't get it calibrated to search for star points. Maybe next time.

You may need a UV filter for Moon shots, depending on how bright it is exposure and appature may not be enough.

Never should need a UV filter photographing the moon, I have many great photos of the moon with out a UV filter.
