CAMPTEQ's 80 Series Land Cruiser pop top Prototype

This thing is awesome. I'm seriously thinking of replacing my Autohome RTT with one of these. The option of accessing the tent from the interior is very appealing.

Will you offer installation? If I drove my 80 to Colorado, could I drive it back to Utah with the pop-top fully installed?

Is there a full options/price list available?

LMK if you want to part with your Carbon Columbus.

One of the coolest designs yet. One vote for 60 top.
Good luck and the greatest success on your start-up!

Yes updates please! This is a neat product you have and I hope it takes off and does well. Best of luck to you and I'll start saving!:sombrero:

Just a couple small suggestions....

no pricing on the website
not much info about construction on the website, ie materials made from, how well it seals up, how well it works in rain or strong winds. Obviously tested in the snow but snow is not the same beast as rain and high winds.
Also nothing about security. Does it open from the outside, it appears it does. If so, is it lockable? Or could a would be thief get in the truck via the pop-top?

Cheers

Hey Gang,
Still cranking away and have made a few running changes to some of the hardware after the 200 nights I spent testing. No major changes, just improvements in hardware. I will be producing a run of tops at the turn of the year.
I am putting together a couple videos when the newborns arrive to clear up a few questions for people.
As far as locking: An external lock can be fitted if the roof is removed. If the vehicle roof remains intact there would be not much need for additional security.
Thanks for the feedback on the site. I will be getting a pricing page up very soon
I am offering the 1st 5 units of 2013 at a 20% discount, there are a couple still available at this rate!

Happy Holidays!IMG_4847.JPG

Maybe i missed it but could you please show a picture of the sleeping situation? Maybe show a sleeping bag laying out for size reference.

This looks cool but i can't wrap my head around the sleeping situation. I'm assuming you climb up through the sunroof being opened and then i guess you lay a sleeping pad on the actual roof of the truck?

Thanks!!

I took the liberty of making the interior roomy :sombrero: The bag is a Double Wide North Face. Upper bed dimensions are 81"x45" similar to a Westfalia bed. Many materials and platform configurations are possible. Plantdriver has a custom bombay trap door set up in the rear with the sunroof remaining operable up front
