Can this be fixed?

I Leak Oil

Probably just as expensive to fix it (everything is possible with enough $$$) vs. getting one from a wrecking yard.
So then, how did you do that???

If it were me, I'd probably be hunting the local wrecking yards looking for a KJ front differential assembly with the same gear ration you have.

You wouldn't have to replace the 'whole' thing. Just the aluminum part.

Going to start looking tomorrow in the local junk yards. The break wasn't that glamorous must have hit a rock while driving down a dirt road. I did learn my lesson about skid plates.

think a commander or GC IFS axle would fit? they are pretty beefy. i'm not sure they would bolt it.

maybe SAS is in order.

I've got a Dynatrac 44 front. They are nice, and they aren't cheap. Customer service is good, and the ala cart menu is too tasty. Pity is I have zero miles on mine, and it's over 7 years old. Heck it's never seen gear oil.
I guess you could say it was a buy for another project from another time. But they do make neat stuff! I keep thinking I'll shove it under my TJ if I ever break the 30, as it is the same width, it should fit.

Turns out its just the differential. Still on the hunt for a new axle. Somebody suggested seeing if I could get my insurance to cover it.

insurance will and should cover it. one of my friends hydro-locked his Hemi in his commander. it was replaced for just $200 deductible. full coverage is great.
