Canon S3 IS vs S5 IS

yeah i did notice that. i played around with all the settings for a few hrs the other day and anything over 200 didnt look good on the lcd display. i thought they might look better once they were down loaded onto a computer but i never got that far with it. so far its just about perfect for what we use it for; pics of the kids playing, animals at the zoo etc. the night mode works fairly well as does the portiat mode. i have a few nitpicks but for the class thats its in i like it. i wish the flash was auto pop up, i wish the sensor was larger w/ the same amount of pixels, i wish the camera took the second and third pics faster, but thats about all i wish for. the image stabilization works well but its not a miricle worker, you still have to hold the thing still. and it slows down the picture taking speed if it has to work a lot.
we looked long and hard at the base level d-slr's and figured that we just dont need to spend that much to get to the next level. we just dont need that capability. that being said at some point i hope to have enough free time, free money, and patience to learn and use a dslr.

Yeah, I myself don't shoot anything over ISO 200 on my S5. I really wish it was capable of going higher without looking grainy and overall bad quality.
