I need to find or have made...
a box shaped cover made of canvas or some other material that is waterproof, hopefully UV resistant or can be made to be.
(4 sides and a top)

the Box size is... 66" L X 48" W X 8" H

anyone have any suggestions or the name of a place they have used before... that is reasonable ?

Or maybe someone here does this work for a living and is willing to help me out ?

If you know something or can help... lemme know.

thanks :)

Sometimes even those places that make decorative awnings over windows and doors at places of business.

If their slow they may take on a project like that...sounds pretty simple

Something else that just came to my twitchy little mind. Either a plastic or canvas tarp cut to the right size and then wrap the top and sides of the box like a Christmas package. Use some sort of industrial adhesive to hold the folds on the ends in place if you can't stitch it..

Sunbrella comes to mind- a staple of the recreational marine industry.

This is not a bargain priced product, but neither is the performance in question. If you are handy, you can hand sew this cover. Some sails are still handsewn by their frugal owners.

great idea, and possibly use tent seam tape on the inside with this if you stitch it

Thanks for your input... tho'...

The whole point of my inquiry here...
was... so I wouldn't have to go and buy a dang sewing machine, just to make this single cover... (reality check, sewing is not my better skill)

just wanted to see if anyone else had used a business or pvt party and was pleased with the service and finished product.

and whom they might have used ?

Dell - if you locate the material, we can get my wife to do the sewing. I know you are always looking for any reason to get out of the heat of Riverside Cnty...

This wouldn't be a replacement cover for your RTT? :coffeedrink:

Rick

Thanks Rick... I may take you up on your offer...

Yeah it's for the RTT cover...

think I could sew it myself... but would then have to buy a machine...
and don't really want to have to do that.

I'll have to do a little shopping for material then...

thanks for the offer of help ! :)

ummm...
did you ask yer wife, before volunteering her for the task !?

There is a material called Sunbrella which alot of outdoor furniture and awnings are made out of. Perfect for a RTT cover if you don't go with a Hypalon cover similar to what comes with Eezi-Awn and Mombasa tents. Thats another option to purchase a replacement cover for an Eezi-awn, good ratcheting closure.

TacoDell, I'm not sure where you hang your hat, however, in Riverside CA, there is a business called Riverside Tent & Awning. And as I understand it, they do a lot of custom stuff.

Hope that helps!

Happy trails!

I brought a hardware store canvas tarp to an awning shop. they added reinforced grommets at my tiedown points, sewed the corners square to fit the trailer box tightly, and added heavy poly material at each corner to resist stretching and tears at the wear points. I think I payed under 100 bucks and it is very waterproof and very tough. Looks like a real military trailer with the canvas cover too.
