As part of a recent trip through the Southwest, my girlfriend and explored Canyon de Chelly in Arizona. 800ft-high, sheer cliff walls, towering rock spires, horses roaming free--we were pretty amazed by it. Here are some photos. If you're interested in reading more, I wrote a post about it on our blog with maps, resources, and of course, more pics.

You have to hire a Navajo guide to either drive you into the canyon or to ride along with you. I posted all the details in the blog post I linked to, if you're interested.

Love Canyon de Chelly..Magical place! The last time I was there we were standing behind the fence overlooking Massacre cave, beautiful calm sunny day. I made a light hearted comment to my lady friend, when suddenly a gust of wind came, lifted my brand new rimmed fishing hat up over the fence and landed it on the edge of the ledge. it just sat there with no way to get to it..Needless to say no more smart ***** comments while overlooking a Sacred place! :Wow1: thanks for bringing back memories!!

Thanks guys. Nice to hear you guys liked the pics.

Upndown, wow. It's crazy when stuff like that happens. It does make you wonder... :)
